Yakuza's Producer Discusses Possibility Of A Majima Spin-Off

Whereas Kiryu Kazuma would be the beating coronary heart of Yakuza, there isn’t any doubt that The Mad Canine of Shimano, Goro Majima, is its hottest character.

Collection producer Daisuke Sato even mentioned so himself in an interview we had with him at E3, citing the character’s surge in reputation since Yakuza zero for the rationale he acquired his personal gameplay mechanic in Kiwami and can obtain a 4 hour marketing campaign all to himself within the upcoming Kiwami 2 (to not point out that half of Yakuza zero is his).

With all that in thoughts, I requested Sato if it was attainable that Majima would ever obtain a spin-off title, despite the truth that Kiryu Kazuma’s time because the protagonist of Yakuza had drawn to an in depth with Yakuza 6. Here is what he mentioned:

There are no plans proper now. The workforce is engaged on a brand new begin to the sequence with a brand new hero, that’s their most important focus. However their stance on doing spin-offs remains to be there, so maybe sooner or later.

Our Take
Nicely, there you go. Nothing but. However the door is open. Provided that even Sato himself admits that Majima is the most well-liked character, it would not be shocking if we see him have his personal sport all to himself sooner or later.
