Click to watch embedded media Bandai Namco has made a name for itself with its Tales series and anime-inspired titles based on juggernaut series like Dragon Ball and One Piece. But every so often the company shakes things up with a new addition, such as last year’s Dark Souls-inspired Code Vein. At today’s Inside Xbox Event, Bandai Namco pulled back the curtain on its next big venture, Scarlet Nexus, and the futuristic adventure is all about using the talent of psycho-kinesis.
Scarlet Nexus puts you in the role of Yuito Sumeragi, a new recruit who is striving to become an elite psionic after being inspired by one who saved him as a child. The game takes place in the futuristic city of New Himuka, a place torn between technology and psychic abilities. To uncover its greater mysteries, you must tap into Yuito’s psycho-kinetic powers. You can watch the trailer above to see more of what’s in store, which has our main character chucking cars and other objects at strange plant hybrids. He can also slice them up pretty damn well.
Scarlet Nexus will hit the Series X and is a part of Microsoft’s Smart Delivery program, which automatically upgrades any version purchased for Xbox One to Series X. As a new property and cool premise, it will be interesting to see what Bandai Namco brings to the table for one of its first games for the new Series X hardware.
