Early Access For Dreams Begins In April

Fans have been waiting a long time to get their hands on Dreams. Although earlier this year a small group of players got a chance to play the beta, Media Molecule is now bringing Dreams to a wider audience with its early access build starting April 16.

Similar to the beta, this build has limitations and it won’t feature all the content we’ll see in the full launch version. For example, using PSVR is still not possible. As studio director Siobhan Reddy explains in a PlayStation Blog post detailing what we can expect, this is “designed for creators to get hands on with the tools.” You have access to the full toolset, interactive tutorials, arcade games, templates, and additional content created by Media Molecule. You also have access to what the rest of the community creates if they wish to share it. More features will slowly be implemented, and if you play early access, you will have the first hands-on opportunities with them.

Dreams Early Access will cost $29.99 on PS4 and will be available in the US, Canada, and all European territories. To get your hands on it, all you have to do is purchase Dreams Early Access from the PlayStation Store when it arrives next month. By buying this version, you won’t need to repurchase the game when it launches later on, and your creations will carry over to the release version too.

Media Molecule says that entry to Early Access is still somewhat limited, “but it’s a big limit.” Reddy says that “to avoid disappointment, we do recommend you purchase as soon as you can to enjoy all of the creator tools available.”
