Earthworm Jim Developers Reunite To Make New Game

Earthworm Jim turns 25 this year, which is our way of reminding a certain segment of our readership that they’re old. Sorry! To make up for that, here’s something fun: Ten members of the game’s original team – including Doug TenNapel, David Perry, and Tommy Tallarico – are getting back together to make an all-new Earthworm Jim game, exclusive to the recently announced Intellivision Amico console.

“We have been talking about this moment for many years,” says Tallarico, the original composer and sound designer for Earthworm Jim and the CEO and President of Intellivision of Entertainment. “It’s a dream come true to finally get the entire team back together. We’re looking forward to sharing a small part of our reunion and initial design meeting with fans from around the world.”

He and the rest of the team will be sharing that vision via a livestream of the game’s first design meeting. The team will be interacting with fans and giving away custom art – and also revealing their vision for the next Earthworm Jim. You can check out the stream here this Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m. Central.

The Intellivision Amico isn’t coming out until October 10, 2020, but you don’t have to wait that long to get your Earthworm Jim fix. The Sega Genesis Mini is hitting shelves this September 19, and it includes the first game in the series.
