As part of Summer Game Fest, a trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria debuted and a new release window for the title was announced.
The survival-crafting game was previously scheduled to debut during Spring 2023 and now it’s set for release during Fall 2023. Return to Moria is in development at Free Range Games, which assisted with the development of The Callisto Protocol. The game takes place in the Fourth Age of Middle-earth (after the events of the movies) and has players controlling a company of dwarves who are trying to reclaim treasure from Moria.
Return to Moria is set in a procedurally generated world, and Free Range says no two instances will be the same. The game supports solo play and co-op.
