The Emmy Awards Have Set New Air Date For Next Year

The 2023 Emmy Awards have officially been delayed. With the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes causing the 75th annual ceremony to have its original scheduled air date of September 18 postponed, the Television Academy and FOX jointly announced on Thursday that the telecast will air next year on January 15.

Strangely, the Television Academy didn’t mention exactly why the awards have been rescheduled–it made a statement confirming the decision on the delay and the plan for January.

“As the Emmy Awards celebrates its 75th Anniversary, the show will broadcast live on FOX coast-to-coast from the Peacock Theater at LA Live and will honor the talented performers, writers, directors, and craftspeople whose work has entertained, inspired, and connected viewers across the globe throughout the past year,” the statement read.
